The precision minimalist. BA45 Vegan keeps the beautifully edited character of the original: stretch canvas around the working forefoot, one simple elastic and very little else. The difference is underneath, where a vegan microfibre working surface replaces traditional suede.

Nude keeps the finish clean, natural and visually understated against the bare foot.

The foundation of BA45 Vegan is its hug-the-foot stretch canvas. Lightweight and highly flexible, it follows the shape of the forefoot closely and moves naturally as the toes and metatarsals articulate.

Underneath, a vegan microfibre forefoot pad creates the working surface. It protects the metatarsal area against direct friction and abrasion while providing the balance of traction and glide needed for controlled turns and travelling movement — without using an animal-derived suede sole.

The carefully positioned side-seam construction follows the natural contour of the foot, helping the upper sit smoothly rather than introducing unnecessary bulk around the forefoot.

A single tone-matching elastic wraps around the heel to maintain placement. With no additional straps, covered arch or conventional heel construction, BA45 Vegan remains deliberately simple and exceptionally free through the rest of the foot.

What we like most is that the vegan version doesn't need a completely different identity. It keeps the simple, close-fitting BA45 formula and changes the material that matters: the traditional suede working surface becomes vegan microfibre.

The result still feels very much like a contemporary half sole. There is protection beneath the working forefoot, but almost nothing around the heel or arch to interfere with articulation or the barefoot line.
